• "Do I need to commit to anything to start a trial?"

• "What's the total cost for each plan length, and the effective monthly cost?"
• "Are there any additional costs beyond the plan price?"

About support

• "How do I reach support if something goes wrong?"
• "How quickly can I expect a response?"

About setup

• "What happens immediately after I subscribe?"
• "Is there a setup guide for my specific device?"

About content sourcing

• "Can you tell me anything about how content is licensed?"
• "Are you willing to answer this directly rather than avoid it?"

A provider that dismisses this question entirely, or gives a vague non-answer, is worth being cautious about. A provider willing to discuss it honestly — even if the answer is simply "ask us anything specific" — is a better sign.
